Refunds
Money put on a Snapfork balance buys recognitions as they happen, not a period of access. This page says when it comes back, how to ask, and what happens to it in the awkward cases. Last updated 13 September 2026.
What comes back
An unspent balance can be returned. Write to us, say which top-up you mean, and the money goes back the way it arrived; what has already been spent on calls does not come back, because it has already been paid onward to the provider that ran them.
Nothing is withheld as a handling charge. The payment channel keeps its own fee on the way out and that part is outside our reach, so a returned top-up can arrive slightly smaller than it left; the figure comes from the payment provider, not from us.
How to ask
By email, at hello@snapfork.app, or through the “Support” section inside the application. Name the top-up — the date and the amount are enough — and say whether you want all of it back or part.
There is one person here, so an answer takes as long as it takes; the money moves once the payment provider has processed it, and their timing is theirs. No form has to be filled in, and there is none on this page on purpose.
If you dispute the charge with your bank
A dispute is recorded the same way a refund is: a negative line in the ledger. If calls had already been made against that money, the balance goes below zero and stays there until it is topped up again.
While the balance is negative, paid recognition is switched off — and the free daily ones keep working, as does your own provider key. Taking the last thing away from someone in the middle of an argument with their bank is not something a disagreement about a few dollars justifies.
Deleting the account
Deleting the account burns whatever is left on the balance. The deletion screen says the exact amount before the button does anything, and that figure is read from the same place the burn is written to, so the two cannot disagree.
It works this way because the alternative is a payment operation on every deletion, together with an argument about how much had been spent, over sums in single dollars. If the balance matters to you, ask for the refund first and delete afterwards.
What we keep afterwards
Top-up records outlive the account. When you delete it, they stop carrying your identifier — they are anonymised rather than erased — because a dispute can arrive months after the fact and we would otherwise have nothing to answer it with. The log of recognitions is deleted in full.
What is stored, for how long, and what is sealed so we cannot read it is described in the privacy policy. What you are buying, in the sense that matters legally, is in the terms of use, and the numbers themselves are on the pricing page.
